Adlon Kempinski Berlin – A Unique Place & A Go See!

I’ve had the privileged to the visit the legendary ‘Adlon Kempinski Berlin’ located in the center district (mitte, if you like) at the boulevard ‘Unter den Linden’. The hotel is directly opposite the famous Brandenburg gate, an 18th-century neoclassical triumphal arch and probably the best-known landmark of Germany. Exceptional service starts right from the moment you park your car in front of the hotel for valley parking. Graceful allure abounds as you walk over the red carpet and step into the Hotel Adlon foyer. Wow, what a marvelous view. This hotel outstand others by the flawless mix of exquisite design, aura of extravagance and glamour and rich history.  No wonder, the Adlon Kempinski was quickly acknowledged as one of the most beautiful hotels in the world since the first opening on October 23th 1907.  The hotel hosted celebrities from around the globe like Marlene Dietrich in the ’20 to politicians like Franklin Roosevelt and many other high society ever since.

Adlon Kempinski Rooms & Suites
You could choose from a variety of luxury rooms with magnificent marble bathrooms, equally lavish in style and comforts, capture the essence of pure luxury, but don’t book without considering a suite. The suites are absolutely fabulous and offer plenty of space where refined comfort has been preserved. We were lucky to spend a few nights in the “Pariser Platz Suite” which offers stunning views far beyond your wildest dreams. Imagine to deem the Brandenburg gate just alone and right from your suite. We were only gratitude to be able to experience this special moment.

Adlon Kempinski history
In 1905 Lorenz Adlon, a successful wine merchant and restaurateur originally from Mainz, purchased the palais and was determined to build the most luxury hotel in Germany that as able to compete with hotels in other metropolises like the Hôtel Ritz Paris which opened in 1898. At the time luxury hotels arose all over the continent with lavishly decorated ballrooms, dining halls, arcades, smoking lounges, libraries, and coffeehouses, but the Adlon stood out for her architecture, artistic design and technical advances. At the time it was extraordinary to have electricity as well as hot and cold running water, but these were standard features of the Adlon right from the start, as it is determined to provide first class hospitality. The Adlon was largely destroyed in the 1945 and rebuild inspired by the original in 1997, hence the ultra modern though stylish 5 star hotel with a unique history it is today. It truly is a very special place with exceptional service where everyone feels at home right from the moment you enter the impressive foyer.
