Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills

Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills is a true gem located right in between the Imperial Palace and Tokyo Tower. From the moment you’re escorted to the 51st floor, where the reception and Andaz Lounge is located, you walk into an incredible 360 degree scenery overlooking Tokyo. Andaz Tokyo opened in June 2014 and is an ultra modern yet very stylish Japanese award winning hotel providing a unique personal style experience. Andaz, meaning â€śpersonal style” in Hindi, is deeply rooted in local culture and history.

Andaz Tokyo occupies the top six floors of Toranomon Hills, which is in fact one of the  tallest buildings in Tokyo at 258 meters, and accommodates 164 rooms including 8 suites, starting at 50 sqm of space each, which is a lot for Tokyo. Actually all rooms contain separate areas where you can wander around and find carefully acquired things like the hotel’s original design blue/white dotted Yakuta (a Japanese bathrobe) with matching slippers, a full set of amenities by the local Japanese brand Pelican, an hyper modern Japanese Toto Washlet, but my favourite is the luxury big rain shower and massive circular bathtub for two. Regardless what you’re looking for Andaz Tokyo offers it and every room comes with an incredible view whether you’re into seeing the sunset over the harbour, the night buzz arising in downtown Tokyo, or look at the Tokyo Tower all night… like we did 🙂

AO Spa & Club
Make sure you allow yourself some time to visit the AO Spa & Club on the 37th floor and unwind in one of the many pools incorporating water jets at the optimal temperature after your workout in the gym next door. I went for 45 min on the cross trainer first and it was an incredible experience. A few laps in the swimming pool overlooking Tokyo city and the famous Imperial Palace make it surrealistic though complete.

AO Spa signature jiyujizai apothecary experience
Jiyujizai is a tailor made program which starts with a 30 minute personal consultation to understand your personal preferences and needs for your body and skin. All fresh products are blended into a foot scrub paste and body massage paste with Japan’s purest elements. I really liked this as I’m keen on mixing things to my own preference as you all know. The experience is absolutely worth the effort as the staff is so knowledgeable, friendly and well-trained to provide you an absolutely amazing treatment. 1.5 hours | 35,000~ (inclusive of consultation fee)

52nd floor Rooftop Bar
The Andaz Lounge serves complimentary alcoholic beverages as well as canapĂ© for their staying guests, but for the real experience head to the Rooftop Bar at Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills. Make sure you’re in before sunset to enjoy the stunning scenery with an incredible sundowner. As expected, bubbly and known cocktails are being served but look beyond the ordinary and you’ll find some of the most amazing Japanese influenced cocktails. Given the rich Japanese tea culture, the Rooftop Bar’s signature cocktails incorporate premium teas and seasonal fruits. It’s an absolute must visit for a great vibe on the semi open-air roof top terrace overlooking Tokyo, even if you’re not staying the night make sure you visit this place for a drink, or two.
