There is something about concept stores and finding everything you didn’t even know you wanted under one roof. The selection criteria for the collections are pretty simple: all four entrepreneurs should like it. What to expect? Find an impressive building at the Woustraat of two floors with a space of 800m2, and many young (upcoming) creatives who use this space to show their clothing, accessories, art, furniture and crafts.
And really EVERYTHING is for sale: the lights on the ceiling to the tables on which clothing is displayed! In addition, the concept of Hutspot is based on change, every month there is a new brand, the layout of the store rearranged or other art displayed in the gallery.
On the ground floor you will find not only the most beautiful collections of women’s and men’s clothing from brands like Velour, First of August, Atelier de l’Armee, Things I Like Things I Love and APC but also books about architecture, interior design, fashion and MENDO’s photography, and industrial furniture from Wood & New, the most fabulous epoxy tables from Vanouds in Amsterdam, beautiful bags and handmade tableware from one of Hutspot’s founders Nick van Aalst.
On the first floor there is a café where you can read magazines at the long and inviting reading table, have a cup of coffee, a sandwich or a drink with friends and I can definitely recommend the carrot cake.
Besides the cafe there is also a gallery (via PUP Concepts) and there are possibilities to rent a temporary space for various activities like photo shoots, workshops, anniversaries and even yoga sessions. And to top it off, you can have your nails artfully done on Friday’s. I could have stayed here all afternoon…
