Jane Iredale – The Mineral Skincare Make-up

After a carreer in the filmindustry and advertisement, working with the top of the bill for years Jane wanted a change.  She wanted to follow her heart and do something she felt passionate about. That something was enhancing one’s natural beauty with skin friendly products. Jane was the first to introduce mineral ‘good for your skin’ make-up on the beauty market. Most of us are very aware about what we put on the inside, but what about what we put on the outside, and make-up in particular? I had the privilege to meet Jane  in person at a beautiful beauty & skin Clinic  called ‘Blush’ where the presentation was held. Jane is very inspiring and I found that she has a lot of product knowledge and knows what she’s talking about.

Jane Ireale mineral skincare make-up is available in over 40 countries, and you’ll be able to find it at dermatologists and beauticians. The bestselling products is the mineral powder range, a foundation, concealer and setting powder in one. It has an SPF factor and is water resistant up to 40 minutes. With the right brush equipment you can achieve a flawless look in seconds.

As a woman of color I was a little anxious to see if the range meets up to the needs of darker toned skin. I am happy to say that after a test it did. The make-up artist used a warm tone that had a yellow undertone, and the color maple was a perfect match for my skintone. A flawless yet dewy effect. The color scheme goes all the way up to Chestnut and Terra that matches an African skin-color or darker toned skin with a reddish undertone.

I loved the texture and the feeling on my skin. It did not make my skin feel dry,  nor did it suffocate my skin, but left it lookin radiant, and feeling silky soft. Great news is that Jane is extending her range of cheek colors and mineral foundation to meet up to the needs of colored women. Michelle Obama, Rihanna and Alicia Keys are fan, and I expect will you be too, after you’ve experienced it.

How To: Apply Smooth Affair Facial Primer & Brightening first. Then apply a mineral product of choice depending on the result you want to achieve. Choose between Pure Pressed base SPF 20, Amazing Base SPF 20, Liquid minerals, Dream tint (Fluid), or Glow Time SPF 25 (Fluid). Use a blush on top, and finish your look with a loose mineral powder.

As enthusiastic as I am I could go on and on about the minerals. The range consists of blushers and bronzers, eye shadows, mascara’s (in a tube), lipgloss and much more…
