Chanel’s creative director, Peter Philips, is stepping down. After five very successful years, Phillips has chosen to go back as a freelance makeup artist for editorial campaigns and projects with a more independent position where he can continue his work as an artist collaborating with the best photographers, stylists and models. He’ll still be attached to Chanel as he will continue to work on the Chanel catwalk shows.
Philips became the fashion house’s global creative director in 2008 and since then has shaken things up, offering us the most beautiful classic palettes and skin-perfecting beauty tools. The Chanel Makeup Studio, which has supported him in his work during these years, will make sure that the creativity and the quality of the Brand’s makeup products and collections will be continued. He will be missed, and we wish him all the creative best.
