Last week I was able to meet Estee Lauders make-up artist Blair Patterson during the Mercury collection press launch. It was pleasant and fun, and I was impressed with the bright and pigmented colors. I love the limited edition matte lipcolors as they are pretty hard to find, especially the fuchsia velvet is a perfect color to spice up your look.
The Pure Color Modern Mercury Collection is a limited edition collection inspired by modern, avant-garde architecture. Molten metallic eyes are the focus on a soft shimmering canvas and are complemented by edgy matte lips and a twisted shade of green on the nails.
Estée Lauder Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux debuted pieces from the collection at the Derek Lam Fall 2011 show, creating a look reminiscent of femininity combined with modern minimalism that was truly passionate and chic.
The show stopper in this collection? Estee lauder launched a Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelée.
The formula creates a glowing shimmer on the skin when applied dry and a fierce flush of color when applied wet. The peals float onto the skin, leaving a fresh golden glow that is not over –pigmented.
Tip: Use the Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelée on the high points of the cheekbones, as a highlighter under the eyebrow, or mix it with your favorite lipgloss for that extra pout.
