Oud mood by Maison Francis Kurkdjian Paris

When it comes to Oud, you like the richness and intensity of it, or you hate it… Just as in fashion, certain perfume ingredients can be fashionable and Oud is definitely one of them. What it is?

Oud comes from the wood of the tropical Agar tree which produces a specific dark and fragrant perfume, also called agar wood. Francis fell in love with it about a year ago. The collection Oud Mood contain three flavors to choose from that are mixed with Oud. Velvet mood, Silk mood and Cashmere mood.

The Velvet mood is quite strong, more masculine in my opinion, and contains cinnamon, saffron and Brazilian copahu, a balsamic, woody balm that comes from a tree.

The Silk mood is lighter and very romantic and airy. It contains Bulgarian rose, with blue chamomile from morocco and papyrus.

The Cashmere mood is definitely the one for me. It’s described as a perfume that is woven with all the gentleness of a second skin. I couldn’t describe it more accurate. It’s soft and balmy and contains Moroccan labdanum, Laotian benzoin and vanilla and makes me think of my trip to Marrakech all over again, and that’s a good thing.

As the preference of a certain fragrance or perfume is personal I always suggest to people to try it on the skin and let it develop for a while. If the Oud mood collections doesn’t sound appealing, but you would like to broaden your horizon try the Oud collection from By Killian or Midnight Oud Eau de Parfum by Juliette Has a Gun.
