Also called the reverse French manicure, this 1920s-inspired nail trend is spotted on the runway shows like Christian Dior, Thakoon and Ruffian. The manicure gets its name from the lighter, half-moon shape at the base of your fingernails.
This look is loved for its elegance, the moon manicure is a favorite look among stars like Dita Von Teese.
It is al little tricky to achieve this look on your own, but with a little extra help from nail guides you can recreate the half-moon manicure at home.

The basic Half-moon manicure step-by-step:1. Apply a base coat followed by one coat of sheer pink over the entire nail and wait for the polish to dry.
2. Stick on the nail guide to block off the “moon” part of the nail.
3. Paint two coats of your favorite –it- color from the nail guide to the tip of the nail.
4. Wait for it to dry, then remove the nail guide and finish with a shine-enhancing top coat over the entire nail.
And Voila, a half – moon mani-pedi!
