When you are invited to reacquaint with a beautiful apothecary skincare brand it’s not an invitation I have to think about twice. The Selfridge beauty department is a maze of shops in shops, yet the BULY1803 counter knows how to stand out from the crowd loud and proud, with its paneling in polished walnut, marble-topped counters, antique faucetry, and retorts of the Chemist, bottles, flasks, vials, and jars in ceramic or glass.
I was warmly welcomed to experience BULY1803 in all its assets. From a personalized lip balm, calligraphed with the French tradition with my initials embossed on the box, and made with natural ingredients that moisturize, repair, and protect the lips (€ 28,00), to the robinet cap (€ 7,00) that closes tubes properly to make them stand upright in your bathroom. Now that’s what I call forward-thinking.

I fell head over heels with the Huile Antique Peruvian Heliotrope. Inspired by plant oils in ancient Greece this dry oil is perfect for nourishing the skin. It absorbs quite rapidly but there is still enough playing time to use as a massage oil, containing flowers, tonka bean, and violet. The more you use it, the more you’ll want to use it. An undeniable natural beauty secret.
