Just imagine that Piero Fornasetti who was a painter, sculptor decorator and printer of books. All this creativity is noticeable in the beautiful storytelling candles. And they are not just candles with intoxicating scents. Think of them as little pots of artwork that deserve to be that centerpiece in your home.
The full collection contains various home-fragrance devices: from scented candles, incense sticks, room spray, and ingenious three-way ceramic diffusers that can be adjusted to hold incense, to perfumed oil or scented crystals.
The candles, housed in Italian-crafted ceramic containers, are a wax blend manufactured by Cire Trudon. One of my favourites from the collection is the floral candle. It has a subtleness to it and smells like Ivy, lily of the valley, iris, jasmine, tuberose, sandalwood, and musk. The beautiful porcelain container is decorated with an image of Fornasetti’s muse and opera singer Lina Cavaliere and surely will brighten up any room.
One of my other favourites is Fornasetti’s Baccio lipped candle. It features the lithographic image of house muse Lina Cavalieri’s nose and mouth (300 gram | € 140) The candle’s warm Otto fragrance is a Fornasetti signature scent created by master perfumer Olivier Polge The top notes are: thyme and lavender. In the middle you’ll find orris* and cedar wood. In the base tolu balsam, incense, birch, styrax, labdanum. A perfect blend to spice up any room. Not familiar with the brand? Then you’ll need to get aquinted fast.
*The fragrance of orris root is warm, sweet and reminiscent of the smell of violets. Its scent has been described as tenaciously flowery, heavy and woody.
Introducing this new adorable candle I have the privilege to add to my collection.
