Review: Charlotte Tilbury ~ Scent Of A Dream

As you all might know by know I am a big fan of Charlotte Tilbury and her make-up and skincare range. I was ever so excited when the “ scent of a dream” recently launched, with Kate Moss, as the pretty face for the perfume.

Charlotte Tilbury Sceent of a Dream

The packaging is profoundly inviting yet the content didn’t exactly do it for me. Thank god, perfume is emotion therefore personal, and you just can’t please everyone. My spoilt nose was hoping for a perfume cocktail that would sweep me of my feet. Yet, they are both nailed to the floor hoping for a miracle. The perfume is derived from her own blend of scented oils from Ibiza’s hippie markets that she has been using for over 30 years. A perfumer helped her in making the scent, and helped to give it the floral composition.

The scent combines top notes of lemon, peach, mandarin, bergamot, saffron and black pepper with intoxicating floral heart of tuberose, violet, jasmine, patchouli and incense. In the base you’ll find ambroxan, hedione and ISO-E Super molecules, and a hint of the poinciana tree (also known as the fire tree)

There it is. I am not so fond of Tubereuse, eventhought I do love the candles by Diptyque. If you DO love Tubereuse, especially mixed with ingredients as mentioned above, this might be the perfect perfume for you. Go on, give it a go. In the meantime, I think I’ll stick to my other Charlotte Tilbury favorites from which the Magic Cream is my nr.1

CHARLOTTE TILBURY is available the DE BIJENKORF in Amsterdam.
