Smashbox Shape Matters And The Full Exposure Palette

During this session I had the privilege to sit in Will Malherbe artistry chair again. A talented make-up artist who has seen the world and can add a whole lot of A-listers to his artistry list. Smashbox Cosmetics was launched by the grandchildren of Hollywood make-up legend Max Factor. The brothers launched a place for photography called the Smashbox studios. Soon this was a gathering place for celebrities, photographers, models and make-up artists. Bringing everything together they decided they needed a product to make make-up last and stay fresh during the day. From that day the famous photo finish foundation primer was born and the start of the brand: Smashbox Cosmetics. Nowadays there are several primers, foundation, highlighter, blushers and lipsticks to choose from. And much, much more…

During the private session with Will you can tell it’s all about sharing knowledge and expertise. Actually we we’re exchanging, which was fun. We started with the application of the hydrating photo finish to even out my skin. Then Will added photo filter powder foundation (see below) which has a silky yet matte feel to it. The – halo – highlighter wand was applied on the bridge of my nose, above the arch of my eyebrow and on my cupid bow. This is one of Will’s favorite products and I love it too.

The 24-hour photo finish is also one of Will favorite products because it makes everything you apply on top stay put. Products that are applied on the eyes are instantly waterproof. With the full exposure palette as displayed below you play and add loads of definition. You have 14 colours to choose from and  it will carry you from coffee to cocktails in a jiffy. As eyes are your soul making them look their best is key. If you are not sure how to start then use the included ‘how to’ guide where the steps are well explained and easy to follow.

That said, keep an eye on the eyebrow launches this spring. Glitzy eyebrows are going to be the next big thing.
