Tutorial : A Subtle Way To Highlight And Shape With @Maschaa ’s Beautygloss

I love the way a face shaping product and highlighter can change your appearance. Kim Kardashian has had us mesmerized after she showed the world us her theatrical techniques. There a loads of YouTube video’s out there showing us all kinds of versions. Mascha from Beautygloss and I decided to have a go at the Kim K. trend but then a subtle version of the subject. It has all to do with exaggerating a few of the basic techniques.

See below for the product I used:

First I made a cocktail (as I always do) of two different primers. Hydrating primer by Laura Mercier and Luminessence primer with SPF 50 that brightens up the skin. After that I used a tinted moisturiser in Bisque (call it a BB creme if you will) followed by a secret concealer in nr.2 and a setting powder. As you might have notices I can’t live without Laura’s eyebasic as it opens up the eyes and takes away color differences. I applied a subtle smokey by using caviar sticks (also as an eyeliner), cool brown eyeshadow and some baked shimmer eyeshadow to add a sparkle.

To enhance the apples of the cheeks I applied a peach glow stick that can be used as a highlighter and blush. The peach mosaic shimmer bloc is another favorite from Laura Mercier I love to use for the extra glow. The mascara is by Mac Cosmetics which gives a great extended long lash effect.

The showstopper in this video are the face & shape pallets by make-up studio. They come in light and darker toned, in a creme version and powder. The last is more easy to work with after you’ve applied the basics. The creme version is heavier on the skin and takes some practise.

One of my new favorite lipstick are the Lipstick Envy by Estée Lauder. They mix fabulously, stay in place while nourishing the lips.

That’s it in a nutshell. Hope you like to video. (Dutch spoken)
